Registration notes: The design was inspired by the history of the Caldwell’s. The three stripes of blue represent the traditional family story of the three Caldwell brothers who were pirates in the 16th and early 17th Centuries. Colours: Green represents the land and Ireland, where the designer’s 4th Great Grandfather, Adam Caldwell, emigrated from to the U.S. in 1787; blue represents the sea and the Navy, as several family members including the designer’ father, French Caldwell, have served.
