Tartan Register Fees
The following charges apply to the services available from the Register. These fees are set out in the Scottish Register of Tartans Act 2008 and in the related Fees Order.
Please note that
- Fees are not refundable.
- The application fee of
£70
is exempt from VAT. Fees for other services include VAT as appropriate.

Fee |
Certificate of inclusion in the Register
Only available for tartans recorded by the Scottish Tartans Society, the Scottish Tartans World Register (STWR) or the Scottish Tartans Authority (STA) prior to 5 February 2009. Certificates of inclusion can only be provided to the owner of the tartan and evidence of ownership will be required eg. a copy of the original STS, STWR or STA certificate. |

Postage and packaging
Prices above are inclusive of postage and packaging.
Certificates of registration are dispatched within five working days of tartan registration. Certificates are dispatched by first class packet post within the UK or ‘International Tracked’, 'International Signed', or 'International Tracked & Signed' to destinations outwith the UK.
Certificates are dispatched to the relevant user account address unless we have been specifically requested to send them elsewhere.
Please note that parcels cannot be dispatched by ‘International Signed’ or 'International Tracked & Signed' if the delivery address is a PO Box.

Once you have submitted your application/request you will be directed to a secure link to make your payment via debit/credit card. Please note, you will be able to pay for multiple applications/certificate requests in one transaction by adding items to your basket.
