Legacy tartans
Prior to the establishment of the Scottish Register of Tartans on 5 Feb 2009 there were two private registers operating in Scotland: the International Tartan Index of the Scottish Tartans Authority (STA) and the Scottish Tartans World Register (STWR). These have been included in the Register under Section 5(1) of the Scottish Register of Tartans Act 2008.

The text has been supplied to the Keeper of the Register by the STA and the STWR and prospective re-users of the text should contact the STA (www.tartansauthority.com) or STWR (www.scottish-tartans-world-register.com) according to the references given on the entry.

The image is rendered by the Keeper of the Register from the threadcount supplied by the STA and the STWR. The image is subject to Crown copyright. You may re-use the Crown copyright protected image free of charge in any format for fair dealing purposes.
