Registration date:	This tartan was recorded prior to the launch of The Scottish Register of Tartans.

Restrictions:	Yes. This tartan was released for the use of members of the Clan Currie Society.
Registration notes:	This tartan was adopted as the official tartan for the entire Currie clan in 1992. Its usage was previously restricted to the Balilone and Garrachoran line of Curries until 27th December 1991, when it was released by the late Major General Sir William McMurdo Currie, Bart, the last hereditary descendant of the Currie's of Balilone. This sett, based on that of the Lord of the Isles, was granted by MacDonald, Lord of the Isles, to William Currie of Balilone and Garrochoran by charter in 1822.
