Registration notes: This tartan was designed to celebrate 15 years of business for Soy Kilts Ltd. The Silver Darlings tartan was produced with local history in mind - Silver Darlings being the local name for herring which have been fished for in the North East & in fact the full east coast of Scotland for decades. The colours chosen are intended to represent the following: blues and dark grey represent the sea; grey and silvery white to represent the ‘silver darlings’ themselves and the thin red line to represent the sails of the drifter boats traditionally used to fish for the herring.
