Registration notes: Closely based on the 1842 Cameron tartan, the blue, representing Rangers Football Club, is surrounded by 50 marled dark grey threads to mark, not only his 50th birthday but also to represent the Harris Tweed from Douglas's strong North Uist roots. The black bands have 22 threads - the house number of Douglas & Mairi's new home and the red comes from both the Cameron and the MacDonald of Sleat tartans to commemorate Douglas's Mother & Grandmother respectively. The blue band has four threads, one for each of the Brown family - Douglas, his parents Iain & Mairi and his sister Shona.
