Collectively, the Yorkshire Regiment can trace its history back to 1685. This tartan has been created with the following significant colours connected to the Royal Yorkshire Regiment, featured in their Tactical Recognition Flash: green, red, black and the white of their White Yorkshire Rose. Black is also for continual respect for all fallen Yorkshire Regiment comrades.
