Registration notes: The ‘Scottish Association for the Deaf’ was established in 1927, renamed the ‘Scottish Council on Deafness’ in 2000. Subsequently the brand name ‘deafscotland’ was adopted to represent the 90 years (1927 to 2017) spent by the family of membership organisations who worked to promote equality, inclusion and integration of deaf people in modern society. This tartan, using muted colours, represents the heritage, achievements and success of 90 years for ‘deafscotland’.
