Registration notes: This tartan was inspired by the Canadian Rockies, a system of multiple ranges of mountains which runs from the Canadian Prairies to the Pacific Coast. The colours used were of personal significance to the designer, Robert Paterson: light and dark browns for layered sedimentary rock; green for the five national parks located within the Canadian Rockies; red for the Canadian Maple Leaf; white for snow covered peaks.
