Registration notes: A personal family tartan designed to commemorate the Flores/Florez surname which originated from the autonomous principality of Asturias in the Celt-Iberian northwest region of Spain. It is bordered by the Bay of Biscay/Mar Cantabrico to the north, and Castile and Leon to the south, Cantabria to the east, Galicia to the west. The Tartan is made up of 7 colours which symbolise the region. The blue square with the yellow cross represents the Victory Cross and the flag of Asturias; dark blue represents the lakes/Los Lagos and the Bay of Biscay; green is for the forest, prairies and meadows; red and yellow represent the Spanish national flag; white represents the fog and snow on Picos de Europa Mountains and black represents the coal mines in the principality.
