Registration notes: A tartan for the San Jose Police Emerald Society, California; incorporated on 1 August, 2017. The Mission of the Society is to “Render Support and Keep Their Memory Alive”. That is to remember fallen colleagues. The colours and pattern of the tartan signify the following: blue represents the blood running through the veins of all police officers; black lines represent the sorrow bands worn on officers badges during times of mourning; silver lines represent the line officers doing the toughest job on the mean streets and the first ones to be put into harm’s way; green represents the Irish heritage of the Society with the culture, music, arts, fellowship and cheer accompanying it. All members of the Society, their friends and families are encouraged to wear this tartan.
