Registration notes: The Joe F Moralez II tartan is based on the sett of the “Edinburgh, City of” tartan (SRT ref 1086) to reflect great affection for the City. The navy blue and gold colours are taken from the badges of rank on naval Officers’ and Non-Commissioned Officers’ uniforms and represent the extensive family history of military service. The green and white threads reflect the family’s view that they are symbolic of hope, the desire to improve oneself and a search for knowledge. The black adds a degree of formality to the design. The tartan has been commissioned to honour the family members and to recall with pride their ancestors.
