Registration notes: A personal family tartan designed to give an identity to the family's long roots and traditions both in south west Scotland and in many other parts of the world. Colours; green represents the family's farming origins in Dumfriesshire, light blue for the many ministers and connections in the Church of Scotland and red represents the African flame tree or the Pohutukawa tree in New Zealand, symbolising the vitality and strength of the family and its members across the world.
Woven Sample: A woven sample of this tartan has been received by the Scottish Register of Tartans for permanent preservation in the National Records of Scotland.
