Prepared for weaving by Marton Mills.

Registration notes: This tartan is one of four designs for the members of the Dutch folk band ‘Rapalje’, known for their Scottish, Irish and Dutch folk music. Dieb den Boer, fiddler with the band, designed the original purple version for himself in 1998. In 2005, using the same sett, he designed this brown version to replace the original design. In 2009 he created versions for his fellow band members: green for William; red for Maceál and blue for David. The colours are based on those found in the Scottish highlands. The Rapalje tartan has become the trademark of the band and is worn at every one of their concerts around the world.
Woven Sample: A woven sample of this tartan has been received by the Scottish Register of Tartans for permanent preservation in the National Records of Scotland.
