Tartan Details - Manac

The information held within The Scottish Register of Tartans for the "Manac" tartan is shown below.

Reference: 11337
Designer: Wilton, Brian
Tartan date: 15/06/2015
Registration date: 12 August 2015
Category: Corporate
Restrictions: Yes. Cannot be offered for sale or woven without the express permission of the copyright holders.

Registration notes: Based on the 1965 Quebec Tartan, the Manac corporate colours of red, white and black predominate. 50 red threads commemorate the company's 50th Anniversary and 66 black threads represent 1966, the year the company was founded. On the black square, the French Tricolour marks the bloodline of the Dutil family who left France for The New world circa 1737. The white line on grey symbolises the roads of North America on which the Manac trailers operate. The red and white have greater significanance as they form the colours of both Canada's National flag and the French Arms of Forge les Eaux (Dutille's home town) and the company's original Quebec home town St. Georges.
