Tartan Details - Red Dirt Girl

The information held within The Scottish Register of Tartans for the "Red Dirt Girl" tartan is shown below.

Reference: 11105
Designer: Kelly Long
Tartan date: 08/05/2014
Registration date: 13 August 2014
Category: Fashion
Restrictions: Yes. Permission to wear, weave or use this tartan should be sought from the designer.

Registration notes: This tartan was created to reflect the designer’s West Texas roots. The major colours of the tartan – green, brown, and white – were chosen to reflect both the predominant flora – sagebrush and mesquite – and also, the economic drivers of the region: ranching, cotton farming, and oil. The red which borders and overlays all these, is representative of the so-called “red dirt”, from which it all springs.
Woven Sample: A woven sample of this tartan has been received by the Scottish Register of Tartans for permanent preservation in the National Records of Scotland.
